The blackberry tree in my backyard is in full bloom. I was reminded of the bird that stole the last two blackberries on my tree while I looked on. I was so shocked that I wrote a poem. I smile every time I look at the blackberry tree.
To the bird that stole my blackberries
You’ve got some nerve!
Right before my very eyes
You swooped on down and off you went
And back you came and stole again
I had my eyes on them you know
But little did I know you had yours too
You could have shared and left me one
Instead, you took them both and flew away.
Next year I’ll look out just for you
As I am sure you will be back for more.
This time I will pick mine first for sure, and leave the other ones for you.
